Silicon-Iron Steel is widely used for the production of relays and solenoids. Its high electrical resistivity and permeability, low coercitivity and residual magnetism are beeter than those of carbon steels. Valbruna's Silicon Iron is successfully used by the main European manufacturers of electronic fuel injection components. A careful heat treatment on the finished component guarantees the best magnetic properties. Protective coating to heat-treated parts, by Chromium or Nickel or Cadium plating is strongly suggested to avoid rusting.
